Events Transparency Donor Packet Contact DonateIn 1882, a group of Little Rock citizens founded a home for elderly women with nowhere else to go. The building they raised has been sheltering women and children ever since. We are buying it so its doors stay open.
The home is named for Ada Thompson Crutchfield, who left a major gift to the organization in honor of her parents. It was built to house women who had run out of options, and in the generations since, this address has gone on sheltering women and children who needed somewhere to go.
It is listed individually on the National Register of Historic Places and stands within the South Main Street Residential Historic District. Buildings like this one rarely come available, and when they do they are usually turned to some other use. This one will continue its legacy — welcoming those who need a place to begin again and helping them find a path toward restoration, purpose, and hope.

This kind of transformation doesn't happen from an office. It happens in community, through relationships, responsibility, and daily life together. That requires a place to call home.
This house gives A Prodigal's Path a place to begin. It provides the space needed to build a community where people can live, work, and learn together. Here, responsibility is expected, accountability is shared, and people are given the opportunity to rebuild their lives through meaningful work, healthy relationships, and a community committed to their growth.
This isn't simply a place to sleep. It's a place to belong, to take responsibility, to learn a new way of life, and to discover that a person's past does not have to determine their future.

We are choosing a model built on community support, private generosity, and eventually earned revenue through meaningful work. This allows us to remain focused on our mission and accountable to the people we serve, while building a program designed for long-term sustainability.
